THYROFLEX TESTING

Woman showing painted thyroid gland on her neck. Enlarged butterfly-shaped thyroid gland,

I have had the pleasure of attending numerous thyroid trainings with the creator of the thyroflex machine, Dr Daryl Turner.

Thyroflex was specifically designed for the purpose of accurately testing for subclinical hypothyroid, something that does not get picked up through standardised blood testing.

Thyroflex measures your brachioradialis reflexometry (reflex speed of your forearm) and will accurately determine whether your thyroid is under - over active or within optimal range.

It's a quick and simple non-invasive reflex speed test to accurately assess your thyroid function.

Years before thyroid blood tests became the standard to test thyroid function a healthcare practitioner would test an individual’s muscle reflexes.

The Thyroflex Test

Thyroflex is a non-invasive specialised diagnostic tool that takes the guess work out of testing an individual’s reflex reactions, using a spring-loaded reflex hammer connected to a computer to assess thyroid function.

Common Thyroid Symptoms:

  • Weak muscles

  • Muscle aches and pains

  • Gaining weight/difficulty losing weight

  • Feeling the cold

  • Constipation

  • Fatigue

  • Wanting to sleep more than usual

  • Puffy eyes, hands and feet

  • Poor memory

  • Poor concentration

  • Brain fog

  • Mood swings

  • Heavy bleeding

If you suffer from 3 of more symptoms, a thyroflex test will accurately determine your thyroid function, giving you the answers you seek.

If your thyroid slows down, everything in your body slows down, having a detrimental effect on your body and can lead to further chronic diseases: Elevated cholesterol, Cardiovascular issues, Diabetes and Alzheimer's. Effective treatment is essential for longterm wellbeing - do not ignore these symptoms.

Once tested a full thyroid panel may be required to get the full picture of what is going on with your thyroid function by testing TSH, T4, T3, RT3 and thyroid antibodies.

Naturopathic treatment is essential to support thyroid function, to lift up thyroid function by addressing the underlying key factors at play.

If required, I work alongside US Drs to prescribe bio-identical thyroid medications if this is needed -  a combined approach of medications and natural support can be essential for some clients.
